A near very good copy of the G.P. Putnam and Sons Standard Library edition of Theodore Roosevelt’s "Hunting Trips of a Ranchman, Sketches of Sport on the Northern Cattle Plains." This volume is undated with a Putnam 1886 Copyright date, but most probably part of the publishers Standard Library Edition released in 1903. Octavo, 328pp. Including the Addendum Index - Publishers' original green cloth with gilt titles and elaborate gilt tooling to the spine, gilt facsimile Theodore Roosevelt signature to the front panel, top edge gilt. This copy has the engraved Henry Sandham frontispiece of a young Roosevelt in hunting costume with tissue guard lettered in red. Illustrated with 26 black and white full-page drawings by R. Swain Gifford, J. C. Beard, A. B. Frost, Henry Sandham, and Fannie E. Gifford. Condition: Wear to edges, corners bumped, browning to the spine with softening and some fading at the spine ends. The interior is clean and unmarked with a previous owner's name erased from the front free endpaper. The hinges are loose, and paper is cracked at the gutter of the front and just beginning at the rear endpapers.
