A very good copy of Volume 1 (Wake-Robin) of The Writings of John Burroughs. This is the 1904 "Autograph Edition" from Houghton Mifflin and Company, Boston & New York number 369 of 750 copies and signed by both John Burroughs and Houghton Mifflin. Originally one of twenty-three volumes that would be published between 1904 and 1922. Featuring 6 tissue guarded and titled illustrations including the Frontis portrait of a young Burroughs.  8vo. 252 pages including the Index - Publishers' green linen cloth, paper spine labels and uncut edges. Corners bumped and rubbed, softening and a bit of fraying to the spine tips, sunning with some offsetting to the cloth boards, darkening to the spine and several small chips to the paper spine label. Overall, a very good copy of Volume 1 of Burroughs writings signed by both the author and the publisher.
