This substantial volume—one of 1,434 copies signed by Eisenhower—is the second installment of his presidential memoirs, covering the four years of his second term with the clarity, restraint, and strategic insight that defined his leadership.

Included with the book is a large, full‑color lithograph portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower, ca. 1952, measuring 11" × 13.5". Boldly signed by Eisenhower in the lower right margin shortly after leaving office. Accompanied by two letters from Brig. Gen. Robert L. Schulz—Eisenhower’s longtime aide—dated April 24 and July 18, 1961, addressed to Carl Bouma of Oregon. In the second letter, Schulz confirms the signing of the offered portrait: “Just before leaving on vacation, General Eisenhower was happy to autograph the attached photograph.” The portrait shows light creasing, folds, and two small pinholes at the top corners, with general toning to margins; overall very good.
 
Authentication included via a certificate from John Reznikoff, premier authenticator for major third‑party services.
