Step into Avonlea with this rare 1908 First Edition, Seventh Impression of L.M. Montgomery’s beloved Anne of Green Gables, published by L.C. Page & Company just months after the book's debut. Bound in the original publisher’s tan cloth with gilt titles still shining on the spine and cover, this early printing retains all eight illustrated plates by M.A. and W.A.J. Claus—including the tissue-guarded frontispiece.

The iconic paste-on cover illustration is still vivid within its blind-ruled frame, though with light rubbing and age-toned cloth typical of its era. Internally, this copy offers 429 pages plus an eight-page publisher’s “Announcement List” at the rear—a fascinating period feature. Endpapers show the charming traces of its journey, with a 1909 ink inscription, an ex-libris label, and light toning. Hinges are a bit loose, with minor foxing throughout, but the book remains solid and very good overall—far better preserved than many copies of this much-loved children’s classic.

This is an excellent opportunity to own a genuine early edition of Montgomery’s masterpiece, just in time to celebrate the enduring spirit of Anne Shirley.
