A rare and near fine copy of the 1935 Christmas card from Robert and Elinor Frost with a new poem entitled "Neither out Far nor In Deep." Printed first in the Yale Review in March of 1934 and later collected in 1936' A Further Range. One of the much sought after early Frost Christmas cards, this being the third following that of 1929 and 1934. The Spiral Press only printed 1,235 copies with eight different names on the title page. This copy printed for Frost and his wife is one of only 450 copies, with most now sitting in museums and academic library collections. Small 24mo. (5 1/4" x 4 1/8") Comprised of eight leaves with the delicate Japanese Kikone paper cover folded over blank covers and stitched at the center fold. (Crane B3) A well-preserved copy with just light wear to the heavy wove paper corner tips and to the corner, fold and spine tips of the Japanese paper cover and with mild offsetting to the front endpaper from the wraps.Included is an original 9" x 7" photograph of Robert Frost in his new home in Boston where he would become the new lecturer on poetry at Harvard University located in nearby Cambridge, Ma. An Associated Press photo dated October 15, 1939, for release on October 29th. Very good for its age with some creasing, a scrape along the left arm and several small, closed tears.
