A near fine copy of Alice Walker's 1982 First Edition of The Color Purple in a very good dust jacket with the $11.95 price.
The Color Purple won the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction as well as the National Book Award for Fiction. This is an early 3rd printing with CDE on the copyright page published by Harcourt, Brace and Javanovich in New York.
Condition: 8vo. 245 pages, Publishers' purple cloth over tan paper boards in nice condition with just a tiny bump to the upper front corner and lower spine tip. The interior is clean and bright with ownership in pen on the upper front flyleaf and an embossed stamp to the lower front flyleaf. The dust jacket is a beauty with a small, closed tear near the lower rear cover with some tape on the verso, light wear at the fold and spine ends and light toning along the flap folds and rear cover.
Overall, a nicer that usual copy and an early printing of the bestselling 1982 first edition.
