Originally Copyrighted 1892 by Roberts Brothers A distinguished and beautifully produced six‑volume uniform set of The Novels of Jane Austen, illustrated, in the classic Little, Brown & Company reissue format. Though undated on the title pages, the copyright of 1892 and the Colonial Press / C.H. Simonds & Co. printing and electrotyping indicate a likely publication around 1898, shortly after Little, Brown acquired Roberts Brothers. 
 
A handsome, cohesive grouping of Austen’s major works, complete with frontispiece illustrations and tissue guards. Includes all six volumes: Vol. I — Sense and Sensibility - 298pp., Vol. II — Pride and Prejudice - 287pp., Vol. III — Mansfield Park - 310pp., Vol. IV — Emma - 315pp., Vol. V — Northanger Abbey & Persuasion - 328pp., Vol. VI — Lady Susan - 333pp. (with frontis portrait of Jane Austen).

The Books:  8vo. Uniformly bound in rich blue cloth with gilt titles and floral gilt decorations to the spine. Each volume features a gilt‑stamped rose motif on the front board, echoed in the matching rose patterned endpapers. All edges gilt, giving the set a refined, luminous presence on the shelf. Colonial Press printing; electrotyped and printed by C.H. Simonds & Co., Boston.  A well‑preserved and honest set. A few corners bumped and rubbed; spine tips softened; minor edge bumps to several volumes. Interior pages show expected toning. Sense and Sensibility has a small chip to the upper edge of the half‑title page. 
 
Overall, a bright, uniform, and highly attractive example of this late‑19th‑century illustrated Austen set.
