A near fine and collectible copy of the scarce 1921 First Printing of The Mysterious Rider, with the Harper "I-U" code on the Copyright page. A clipped Zane Grey signature has been affixed to the front free endpaper. The book is housed in a beautiful Frank Johnson wraparound dust jacket in very good or better condition with the $2.00 price. The illustration for the jacket was taken from a painting by Frank Tenney Johnson; the black and white frontispiece and three plates in the text are by Frank B. Hoffman. Condition: 8vo. 336pp. publishers' green pictorial cloth stamped in yellow and black. A touch of softening to the lower spine and rubbing to the lower corner tips. Some toning to the endpapers and a few interior pages. Some chipping to the spine end, and a small crease with a bit of paper loss to the upper back cover. This is an outstanding copy that would make a terrific addition to your Zane Grey or Westerns Collection.Zane Grey Signed Check - 6 1/4" x25/8" overall- Description: Tipped into the front of the book is a Signed Zane Grey, personal check from his Altadena, California account dated November 18, 1927.
